Dirt in water

Post by June Tiffany » Mon Jul 02, 2007 9:52 am

Do you know of anyone who has had problems with dirt coming thru their
plumbing? We live in Winter Haven, Polk County, Fl. in a Homes Of Merit MF
home, which we purchased new 3 years ago. There is actual dirt coming thru our water supply. The county said that our water if fine.

Thanks for your assistance.

It is probably coming from the county especially if it is sandy like the soil in the area..If the county worked on a line near you some might have gotten into the pipe...If it seems VERY black and comes from the hot water line, it could mean your water heater needs flushing. This is one maintenance item most homeowners ignore. Your water heater manual will have detailed instructions. If you have never done it it would be good to do anyway..
