skirting repair

Post by 4democracy » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:37 pm

I need to know about the manufacture building codes for skirting, my skirting is wood and in great condition, it is framed with greenboard on the inseide, but I need to know about flashing, how do you put flashing around to avoid earth to wood contact, what is the requirement?
Thank you for any assistance. Is there a website I can go to to see exactly how it is applied??

Wood is rarely used for skirting just for the reasons you mentioned... keeping the wood from contacting the earth... which can cause rot, termites etc...

The most popular and least expensive type of skirting is vinyl.

The best is concrete.
