I am a new manufactured/modular home dealer and new to Florida. What do I tell customers regarding availability of home insurance?

Insurance can be a problem but not just for manufactured homes. Dont feel like your alone with this problem. All home sellers are facing higher and higher rates in Florida. Rates for all types of structures across the state have taken a severe jump since we had two years of back to back to back hurricanes. Our new governor has promised to bring us relief from the insurance crisis... when I see it I will believe it.

There is not much problem (other than price) getting coverage for newer homes that were built and installed to the latest code. For older homes there is Citizens Insurance... basically the state pool for those that the insurance companies consider high risk.

Where in Florida are you located? I have been selling homes in the Sunshine State for 28 years. There are several excellent agencies across the state that do a good job. Two that have been a great help for me and our customers and park residents:
