Sister is considering one of two new 2006 doublewides. A Dutch and a Patriot. Both similiar in size options. Which is considered to be better quality / built?

Your question is much like "which is better Ford or Chevy" ? You need to look at both homes with an eye to which has the features that you most want AND which dealer will take better care of you after they have made the sale.

Most buyer dissatisfaction with homes of all types happens after move in day. A home is a complex item that has many facets. Here is a blurb from J.D. Power 2006 New-Home Builder Customer Satisfaction Study:

"More than 90 percent of new-home buyers report experiencing at least one construction problem with their new home. The most frequently occurring construction problems involve landscaping, kitchen cabinet quality and finish, and heating and air conditioning"

Look long and hard at both homes and think about which dealer do you have the confidence in to stand with you after the sale ??

Patriot is far superior

Dutch is a much lower end, no frills, built to the margin home. Patriot is heavier, more forgiving with a higher level of quality.

Before I got out of the manufactured home industry profession, I was a General Manager for Patriot Homes. By far... Patriot Homes builds a better quality home than Dutch. By all means... please go with a Patriot. They also back up there product with excellent service AFTER the sale.
