Manufacturer's installation instructions 1997 Guerdon

We (my husband and I) are purchasing a repossessed 1997 Guerdon 26x58 manufactured home and plan to permanently install in on acreage we own. In order to obtain a building permit for the installation our building department requires (from the manufacturer) a floor plan and installation instructions. In my research it is my understanding that all documentation on homes built prior to Jan 2001 were destroyed when Guerdon filed bankruptcy. When I informed the building department of this information, they were completely baffled as to how to allow me to proceed and their answer was to send me to a building committee meeting to obtain a variance on my permit. Does anyone know of where there might be a stash of floor plans and manufacturer's installation instructions for Guerdon's built prior to 1997? Aren't manufacturer's installation instructions pretty generic? Will installation instructions for any 26x58 double wide apply to a 1997 Guerdon?

The owners manual should be with the home...but your building official is not up to speed with your states laws...by now all states have a generic set code in place that all licensed set crews will be aware of...All building inspectors should also be aware of the state's generic set rules...If you are in IL..your state has one of the best state administrators in the country...His first name is bruce...I am sure he would be happy to personally get you county building department in line...
