To all, greetings from South Carolina.
I am in a 2001 Horton Home (dbl wide) with lowered bedroom/bathroom ceilings. I already have several 'passive' vents atop the home. Three ceiling fans purchased - two mounted in largest common rooms (planning to mount third in bedroom with lowered 'residential' ceiling. About 6 'passive' vents along the ridgeline and two powered bathroom vents and one passive laundry room vent.
Question #1... would a horizontally mounted exhaust fan mounted in the center of the home, of any kind help, if vented to the outside?
Question #2... would installing additional grate 'vents' in the upper part of the walls help cool the home so that the bathroom fans help suck the hot air out?
Question #3... are there any tips I am overlooking?
Many thanks, in advance for the coming help,
R. Strickland

Re: ventilation
R. Strickland,
What are you venting? heat or oders? If heat, and your weather is as hot as ours(Florida) then you're exchanging outside heat for inside heat. If oders then find the cause of oders...e.g. mold mildew.
If you are trying to cool in the day time, you need to reduce heat sources...e.g lights, appliances, even your computer eguipment that might be left "on" all the time...take time and think how many things are "on"
Instaed of investing in more venting, that might not save money in the winter time, perhaps you should invest in some cooling ac.
Hope this helps..stay cool...be happy!

Re: ventilation
The required ventilation of the attic space, is 1/300. This is more than accomplished with the "Aura" vents utilized by Horton. Aura has a website if you want to see the specs etc. The bathroom fans exhaust to the outside. The attic vents only exchange the attic air. It enters thru the soffit and exits thru the "Aura vents".
