I am looking at manufactured homes made by Palm Harbor and by Oak Creek Homes here is South Texas and would like to know what anyone thinks about the two companies - which one stands by their product, best value, etc. - what were your experiences with the companies?

This is like asking which is better Ford or Chevy. Every home owner regardless of how or where built, has had some good and bad experiences with their home. If you want an impartial view, John Grissim recently finished the first ever consumer ratings guide to each and every manufactured home builder in the country. The Grissim Ratings Guide to Manufactured Homes provides at-a-glance listings with key information home shoppers need to make an informed decision. All 79 U.S. builders are fully evaluated. More than three hundred brands and series described.

hey, congrats on buying your new home! i am in the process of researching homes to purchase my first as well. i love this site. it is my favorite. along with
www.ciinvestments.com = they have some great deals, will move for free in a 600 mile radius and have big pictures.
from what i have found through my own research, and subsequently the rankings available, oakwood ranks the best. it would also depend on the floor plans, amenities, designs, etc that you like best.
any current homeowners opinions and advice, comments, etc. would be appreciated for us "newbies".
