OK to put piano in manufactured home?

Post by priusjames » Sun Jun 11, 2006 10:00 am

Is it ok to put a piano in a manufactured home?

I'm looking at a couple of different Manufactured homes, wonder if either (or both) could handle a standard upright piano...

One is a 1974 Westchester doublewide, the other a 1997 Goldenwest doublewide. Both are on raised foundations. I know, quite a disparity...they're both available in the same park and I like each for different reasons (half price on the westchester is a nice draw!).

Would I need to put a support platform under the piano, reinforce the joists, both/neither?

Thanks

James

We have a studio grand piano in our living room and an upright in the den.
Our home is a triple wide of 3118 sq ft.

We had a 125 gallon aquarium in ours :) I'm sure they'd be similar in weight.
