MH Construction

I'm looking at 90's vintage MHs and wonder if all of them are constructed out of 2x4 or better methods. I was surprised to see some older homes built in the 70/80's (?) with 1x3s in the walls and roof trusses...

Is there a referece guide anywhere on which manufacturers use plywood as opposed to partical board and so on?

Thanks.

Mac

Anything after (late?) 1976 is built to HUD standards, and will have at least 2X4 walls. As to plywood floors, they're generally optional. Try pulling up a heating vent cover to see the subfloor material (if the vents are in the floor). Otherwise, look up from underneath. You may be able to get a good view by removing a plumbing access plate.
