Dual pole 120-volt circuit breakers?

Post by Gary Chavez » Tue Mar 21, 2006 2:49 am

I noticed in some manufactured homes on the dealer lots, all the circuit breakers have little dual poles, not the normal breakers that some do This is every circuit breaker in the box, not just the 240-volt ones. What kind are they?

Almost all electrical component manufacturers now offer this type of circuit breaker. They are often called "slim line" or the like. They allow the electrician to maximize his box space and double the capacity. They can be a configuration of both 120 or 240 and may have differing ampacities. The 240 volt must be installed so as to pull current from both buss bars.
