ZONE 2 and 2D

What is the difference between a zone 2 home and a zone 2d. My home sales company tells me that my community in Fl. won't allow the zone 2 I picked out and the home has to be a zone 2D. Seems that HOM don't make the one in 2D so I will have to go to a zone 3. Of course, the price goes up. I did call and it is true that they won't allow a zone 2 in my community.

Curious to know what is involved in the different zone types. Thank you.

Never heard of this...I will be looking for a knowledgeable answer that someone from Florida might post..You cannot be the first one to have this question...what does the park say is the difference????...Maybe a call to the engineer at the HOM plant that builds the home you like might get some good explanation....

Exposure d is for homes placed within 1500 ft of the coast.
Most manufacturers don't build them, and an engineered foundation and tie down system is required.
You may have to go to a Jacobsen retailer to find an exposure d home.
