Hi,
We purchased a mobile home this past September. We are wondering what the expense is to put in or replace heating systems in a mobile home? In terms of price approx/safety level. We seem to hear more and more in our area about mobile home fires from propane gas heating systems.
What options are out there and how safe are they? Kero, Propane, etc.
Also - the most recent fire was an explosion that blew up the home, because of a leak in the propane. Are there people you can have come and inspect for these type of things?

You should have your heating system inspected and cleaned every year in the fall. You should also have your central air conditioning system cleaned and inspected every spring. Any professional heating/and air conditioning person should be able to do this and you migh get one who specializes in MH. In Oklahoma, these inspections cost less than $100.00 each.

I'm wondering why you are considering replacing the system that appears to be almost new? are you having problems with it? If there are some rooms in the home that are colder than others you may try to partially close some of the registers nearer the furnace which may direct more of the flow to the other rooms.
