My wife and I are interested in buying some property near Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. The land we are interested in includes an abandoned singlewide mobile home. It is probably 30 years old, is listed as 'no value', and is not worth trying to make habitable.

What are the basic steps involved in disposing of an old manufactured home with no value? Are there businesses who do turnkey disposal jobs? What kind of money will it take to get rid of this abandoned home? I know exact answers are impractical, but I'd appreciate any help in getting a feel for the range of potential costs involved, and disposal options that may be available.

No value actually means negative value...To have it torn down and properly disposed of might cost a little...Local costs will depend on tipping fees in the land fills..they are rising almost every month..Then you county might very well require a demolition permit...as some in my area require...Here they are cheap this helps the county keep up with the tax rolls and potential environmental issues..Check with your building officials office about local regulations..In our area these costs are costing about $2000 for labor..hauling and tipping fees....Good Luck with your project..
