frame

Do you know if there is somewhere you can buy a frame for a house and build it yourself? Any tips would be appreciated!

My guess is that you could design one and have a local welder/fabricator make it; the trick would be meeting all the building and/or HUD codes to get a certificate of occupancy - what you need to legally live in it/sell it as a dwelling. Possibly a manufacturer might sell you a frame, but I don't think you'd save money in the end, given the break they get on materials, and the tools they have to work with.
