what is the concern about formaldahyde in mobile homes?
Are new 2005-6 models at risk?
How do you check for formaldahyde?
There was a caution notice listed in the at the new home we were looking at.
Fleetwood double wide
Are they safe to live in? Thanks

The formaldehyde notice that you are seeing is required in all manufactured homes. not just Fleetwood.
You are not at risk, the requirement is very outdated.
The building materials used in a manufactured home are no different then in other housing products. The only time I ever hear a complaint like formaldehyde is because the home needs a little time to air out, because it is constructed so quickly.
You will be fine.

There is formaldahyde in almost every building material...Some folks have a sensitivity (alergy) that makes any exposure unconfortable.....Much like some folks are sensitive to peanuts......If you had this problem you would already know...Quality homes with quality materials have very low concentrations of formaldahyde....Cheaper homes with lots of pressboard have more concentration and can be unacceptable to some....
Good LUck with your new home...Go for it...

We just recently bought a modular home, which we are not yet moved into. There is not any electric yet. The notice we have says formaldahyde is dangerous to elderly people and young children. Is is safe to have my small children in the home with us while we are doing some work with no ventalation from lack of electricity? And do I have to worry about this as an ongoing problem?
