Check with Lowes Home Improvement. They have model that would be perfect for your needs.

Tankless gas hot water heaters require a bigger chimney because of the heat they run at but they do work very well and any plumber should be able to install one. They run $800 and up but if you plan to stay there for a while should pay for itself. If you use propane make sure the unit will accept that kind of gas.

If you get a tankless hot water heater, make sure the washing machine and dishwasher are not running when you go to shower. Also make sure no one else in the house turns on the hot water while you are taking a shower as if they do it will have a very chilling effect on you.

Gas tankless work just fine if you get a good one. We have a electric one in our lake place and it is OK but I have used the gas model and it will keep up with almost any demand as well as any tank heater. When my gas water heater goes I am going gas tankless.

Why not use the instant electric one ?
Is the gas one better ? or less expensive ?

It is mostly a matter of capacity. Gas is a lot hotter than electric heaters so it can supply more hot water. Whole house gas heaters can supply over 7 gallons per minute (gpm). The largest electric I have seen is rated for 4 gpm. As stated above, you could take a shower, but if the washing machine gets started, the system simply can not heat the water fast enough.

Morning!

Feeling a little helpless in A2, MI. I need some quick advise!

I live in a 1500 sq ft, 3bdrm, two bath mobile home and my 30 gallon gas water heater died last night... I need to replace it and am considering tankless. Is this a possiblity? Can anyone give me some sound mechanical advise so I'm not running in circles? I see that Lowes carries them... do they install? Just looking for some general info before I start my chase!

Thanks!
