Hi. I own a Fleetwood 2001 Entertainer down in Florida. It came with a fireplace which has the ugliest stone mantel I have ever seen. We are in the process of taping and texturing the walls in that room, and need to get the stone mantel (One piece) off the wall so we can do that and put the flooring down.
Has anyone ever done this before? How do I get it off the wall without ruining the wall?
Thanks
Fireplace
Re: Fireplace
If you look very, very closely, and if this mantel is one peice, installed like most (but not all cases), you will find several drywall screws, installed in areas that are hard to see. If you find these screws and back them off, and are a lucky person, the whole mantel will come away from the wall.
However, some manufacturers actually construct the mantel, stone by stone. if this is the case, you are doommed!
