outside entry 1985 rizcraft

I purchased the Ritzcraft with the outside front door entry CARPETED.
this has deteriorated and i wish to replace it. it seems to have been installed at time of assembly.
has anyone else replaced it?
what materials did you use and how was it replaced?
are there alternative materials that can be used?
any ideas?
