leaky door
leaky door
I have a sliding glass door that has developed a small leak at the bottom of the rail between the stationary outside door and the inside sliding door. Is there something at the base between the 2 doors that can be replaced, or will chalking at the bottom of the door between the 2 doors fix it.
Re: leaky door
Should have been a seal made of either rubber or a fiber type material. Once these leaks develop theyre hard to get rid of. But if you are a do it yourselfer, you can buy these seals in a home improvement store. I have seen some that have glue on one side and just sticks to the inside of the stationary door or you can drill holes along the end of the door and screw it in. Another place it leaks is under the door between it and the sill. Theres a rubber piece that wears over time. Others are a hard plastic. And still others that are the fiber type. some are adjustable. Youll have to take the door off and look at the bottom to see where its warn and if you can adjust it or replace it. If this is where it is youll have to just do some experimenting. Another radical idea might be to add an awning over the door to help keep the weather off.
