Is there someone out there that can answer me ,or is the question I'm asking really dumb. I have listed this question twice and this will be the third time. I would appreciate an answer from some one if possible. And if what I'm asking is too stupid just say so and I'll stop asking.
have been in my mobile home now for 7yrs. MY husband and I are thinking of
having the home bricked all the way up. My question is can you first of all tell
me how do we go about getting a concrete foundation under this home since it was not done when we originally had the home set up.
The second thing is what are the advantages of bricking the home from the bottom up. Thanks...Roscella
Concrete Foundation under Mobile Home
Re: Concrete Foundation under Mobile Home
First you remove any skirting. Then you dig a trench below frost-line (at least 1 ft deep). Pour concrete with rebar to make at least a 1 ft x 1 ft foundation all the way around your home and with an 8" riser. Then you can brick/block from there to the house. Contact me at [email protected] and I'll send you drawings.
If you want to brick farther than to the rim joist it becomes a bit more difficult but is doable. If you're "..thinking of having the home bricked.." it implies that you are going to hire someone. In that case you should find a reputable and LICENSED contactor in your area (preferably get bids from more than one).
