My husband and I bought a double-wide mobile home with an add-on. We are trying to get the mobile home insured but are running into trouble because the mobile home was custom made and there is no make, model or serial number on it.

The mobile home was built in 1975. Is there some way that we can find enough information on the mobile home to get it insured?

Check the title records with the government....Title and tax reecords are kept for years..Good Luck..

You might find a number locatedon the first I beam of the home which would have been the pulling end. you have a pre hud home and most where titled like cars. Did you purchase it form theorgianl owner? You might check the warranty deed on many of these home what i found is the titels were losta nd the homes where sold with the land and only identified as improvements. In some states you could write a history of the home and apply for a hud label thru the states ddepartment of housing. In any case you have quite a chase ahead of you.Good luck

Moost pre-HUD homes were titled like cars. Your Department of Motor Vehicles may have the records yoou're looking for.
