we have had water under or double wide home now for 3 years, and yes there is the black plastic over the dirt. the water has laid on the top of it also. what we can't understand is why the floors in our home sometimes crack in different locations then maybe after a rainstorm the noice goes away and returns at some other location. also what would a loose pillar mean. thank you

You answered your own question,
Water under the home can cause cnsiderable damage. Your floor is absorbing the moisture and swelling. soon you will have mold in the floor insulation.
Take whatever steps you need to in order to grade the site to shed the water away from the home.

Eugene is right.
Remember, the plastic on the ground only works if the site is graded properly (so that water runs out from under your home). When the site is not graded properly, it actually makes the problem worse because water collects on top of the plastic.
It is imprtant to correct the grade under the home not just around it, so the water won't puddle in any low spots.
