If you order a home ubc does this meand that you can count on having headers above the doors and window and a 2x6 top and bottom plate and 2x10 floor joists
and electrical outlets to studs and 12 in. eaves Really don't know where to look for this information and have found that dealerships want you to belive that a hud home is all you need and is better built when they tell me this I say one thing and leave and that is If hud is so good then you will sale me a ubc for less money right some how they don't think this is funny oh well

A HUD home can be constructed in the manner that you describe.However you will have to find a manufactured who builds to those specs.Those who do will have no problem telling or showing you.Those who don't will tell you there home is just as good or some other story.Also remember you will pay more for a home constructed as you descibe.

The UBC is only a model code..most states have taken the model and made some modifications...I do not think the model code goes into this detail...It would be best to check out the web site of the housing approval agency in your state government..Most will have the states actual code posted somewhere on their site..
Remeber...modular homes are built to 50 different state codes..and most homes cannot be moved from state to state...some manufacturers might have gotten approved in neighboring states...but not all..
