I also need to inquire about the mobile home law that was passed in January 2004, regarding selling a mobile home and needing information. I tried searching
for laws/Regulations on mobiles, went to mobile home.com, and of course mfdhousing.com, tried looking on HUD's website, but still did not find the information which I was given the topic on. That no mobile can be sold w/o serial #,etc....

Sounds to me that this would be some sort of state law...States regulate titles and the direct sales laws...

Many states had to change their manufactured home title laws in the last year to help with the rules of mortgage finance by both FANNIE MAE and FREDDIE MAC...companies that buy mortgages from mortgage company...They have demanded that mortgaged homes have the title retired during the closing process...so that there is no separate title on the home..only a deed with the mention of the home...

The best route of info on this would be with your states title office...
