I am currently considering purchasing property with a 1972 Brookwood MH. Do you have any information as to the value of such a home, any formaldahyde problems, and any other information a potential homeowner should know?
Thank you.

Re: 1972 Brookwood MH
The formaldyhyde outgassing runs its course in about 18 months on new homes...this one is a little older than that..
Value of a 32 year old manufactured (actually mobile) home is all in the eye of the beholder and is all location related...in some beach front parks in CA and FL..homes like this can be worth tens of thousands of dollars...in some areas...these homes are not allowed at all and might have a negative value..You have to shop the area you are in to determine its value..

Re: 1972 Brookwood MH
Thank you for your response. I had been told to beware of formaldahyde in older mfg homes, and this one is definitely older. I now know this was bad information.
I am interested in this property particularly for the land, but the health concerns were definitely an important issue if I was to stay in the house on vacations until I could afford to build.
Thanks again for your help.
