Has anyone ever bought a new manuf home and had them shipped without cabinets so you can install your own? We're thinking of having that done and need input.

I think it would be easier to just remove the cheapest ones it ships withs. You're not going to get a credit for them anyway and finish work will have to be done in either case.

Yes, their is a company that does that in New Mexico and that is Karsten Homes. They can modify the floorplan and delete certain items. Some of their customers go to HomeDepote and order cabinets and they install themselves.

Almost all of the high end home manuf. that I have spoken with out here will do that. One factory rep told us that to do the water checks for hud they have to put in the sink unit. They even told us about one lady who ordered her 2500 sq ft home with out cabinets and then later changed her mind and wanted their cabinets, so they shipped the cabs to her and they installed them at her lot!
