basement walls

I am planning to build a walkout basement using Simplex forms for a 9" wall. My basement guy suggested using 3/4" chamfer strip placed vertically every 8' on the exterior of the walls for control joints. I thought the control joints would be better placed on the interior of the home as soil pressure would make the joints weak spots. I'm going to be placing a doublewide on the foundation and the basement must be backfilled before the home can be put in place. There are two sections of the home and each weight around 45,000lb. What is your suggestion?

Each and every home can be different. Some manufacturers will provide you with basement engineering, if the home was designed to be placed on a basement, if these are not available, you will be required to have a local board certified engineer design the basement plans.
