I just read this on a web site about a Palm Harbor home. Is this true?!?!?
"Only non water rooms can be sheet rocked. This means that all rooms except the bath, laundry rooms and kitchen can be sheet rocked"
Thanks.

Is thistrue- Wallboard
Re: Is thistrue- Wallboard
I don't know much about Palm Harbor but our Bay Manor will have Greenboard in the bathrooms and kitchen instead of Gypsum (Sheetrock).
Something you might want to ask.

Re: Is thistrue- Wallboard
Most decent builders will use waterboard or greenboard in any area that has high moisture like a shower or bath but the rest of the area is regular wallboard. I don't see why they would not use rock in the remainder of the bathroom and one's I have looked had drywall throughout the entire house but it is a good idea to make sure waterboard is used around the tub and shower.
Re: Is thistrue- Wallboard
The person on the website was talking about the panels that have the wallpaper on them already. I do not care for that. I want to have knock-down texture throughout. We are visiting the Palm Harbor OR factory on Wednesday. So I guess I will find out the "truth" at that point.
Re: Is thistrue- Wallboard
I am very familier with Palm Harbor...The person you got this info from is wrong...they do offer FULL tape and texture homes....many with seamless seams and cielings..
Each Palm Harbor plant has slightly different specs...ask about the system in your area at the plant tour...My guess is that you will be happy with the answers you get..

Re: Is thistrue- Wallboard
We have a Palm Harbor that is sheetrocked in the kitchen. I know for a fact you can also have it done in all the bathrooms. The immediate bath/shower area is fiberglass, like you would have tile or some sort in a conventional home.

Some Palm Harbor plants even offer ceramic tile showers...a little more expensive than fiberglass...but some folks like tile..
