Need serial number for insuranc

How do I find serial number and how do I know I found it if there are all different? Tried the kitchen cabinets, utility room and under house on tongue. HELP!

Try the title...lender...or tax authority in your area..They will all have it..

WE JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED( CASH DEAL) A 1976 12X51 MONTEREY MOBILE HOME FROM A GENTLEMAN,BUT HE NEVER HAD IT REGISTERED WITH THE COURTHOUSE SO WE ARE HAVING TO GET IT REGISTERED BUT WE CAN'T FIND THE SERIAL NUMBER,THER IS A NUMBER ON THE FRONT OF THE TRAILER ON A METAL PLATE TO THE LEFT OF THE DOOR THE NUMBER IS A119-1 COULD THAT BE IT? WE HAVE TO HAVE IT TO GET THE POWER AND A SEWAGE INSPECTION.
PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

The plate to the side of the door, was a third party inspection plate, used prior to the HUD code, certifying that the home was built to the ANSI standard A119.1.
The serial number is stamped into either the backing plate, behind the hitch, or on the top of the "I" beam comprising the hitch.
