The Manufactured Housing Forums

Can I save money by buying a partially complete manufactured home? I have construction experience and I would feel very comfortable installing my own windows/doors, roofing, fishish work, flooring, siding, porch/deck, etc. Is this a possibility, and how much could I save? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Manufactured homes are not sold in various stages of completion. The home must be complete to earn its certification. Certain panalized homes are sold this way, as was the program with Jim Walters Homes and the other "shell" home folks.
