electrical cross over
electrical cross over
i have a 1999 american star doublewide 4 outlets in kitchen starting with the fridge plug in are dead no power dissconnected the wires on both sides of outlet oms checked the last three have continuity on last three how do i trace back the wire to the panel the outlets are in front half of home and panel is on back half any ideas or help would be appreciated thanks
Re: electrical cross over
Sounds like the problem may be in the cross over, where the two halves of the home are joined. The fact that the refrigerator is involved, leads to that assumption. The refrigerator is on a separate circuit, from the other receptacles, if they are over the sink counter. They would be on the GFCI circuit. If appears you have two circuits not functioning. See if this checks out with your reasoning.
Re: electrical cross over
If they were working fine and then just quit....recheck your breakers...turn them all the way off(sometimes an extra click) and then back on.....do you have power coming out of the breaker?...if yes check the cross over as Roy advised...if they are good...then you have a loose or bad connection in a receptical that is in the circuit....
Re: electrical cross over
GFCIs are finicky too, and occasionally need replacement. If I went underneath to check the crossover, I'd shoot a bit of silicone lube into the connection while there, to take care of any moisture that might cause corrosion over time.
