I am looking for a site where I can look up a true value of new manufactured homes. I have never bought a manufactured before and I hear it is like buying a car. I have purchased and owned six homes but never a MH. Are there any free sites that can help me out, and if no, then our of the sites you must pay a fee, which are the best for the money.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give.
Thanks,
John
New MH Values
Re: New MH Values
What you are looking for does not exist. If you wanted to build a stick house,
and went to a contractor for a price, he couldn't very well give you a quote
either. Any home you buy, whether Manufactured or Stick, have a number of
options (many, many options) that you may or may not want.
When dealers order their display models, they usually spec out items according
to popularity. They want to show a nice home, but they don't want to get stuck
with a fully loaded home that may never sell.
You need to know YOUR requirements for a home before you even start
talking to a dealer. ( floor plan, fireplace?, shower in the MBR, size of the
floor joists, size of the wall studs, 7.5' or 8' or 9' ceilings...... everything)
The beauty about having any home custom built is that you get to pick your
own options from those available at a particular dealer.
One home does not fit all, as we all have different requirements.
Some dealers do advertise homes that they have on inventory at their lots
for a particular price, and may also advertise a home that they can order
for a particular price.
Your adventure is just beginning, so figure out what you want, and check
back with this group for questions. There is a ton of info you need to
have before spending major bucks on a new home.
good luck
