I am considering the purchase of a new Silvercrest modular home in Lake Elsinore, California for $229,000. It has three bedrooms, two baths, and 1350 sq. foot . Do they make a quality modular home and are they reputable?

According to everything I've read anyway they make top of the line homes.

We bought a brand new Silvercrest and had it moved to NM (3 pieces) from CA. The freight was high, but worth it because the home is so well built. It withstood the trip and placement (we used a cat to pull it up a hill) with minimal damage. Our hometown dealer (Faver's Homes, Farmington, NM) and the factory reps did everything they said they would and fixed all problems (and they were minor) immediately. We just had our 1 year inspection and all that was needed was recaulking around vanities, jet tub, tile and 2 wall seams. I know there are horrible stories out there about manufactured housing, but think that you get what you pay for and must have reputable people working with you. We did pay more for our Silvercrest, but compared it to other brands available in our area and are so glad we spent the extra money. We have a great home. However, since we bought ours, I think Silvercrest has been bought or merged with another company. So hopefully they are still quality oriented.
