Anyone with expertise in this area,please
advise positives for getting 200 vs 100 amp installed
when ordering new home. thanks in advance.

If your new home heating system & hot water tank are gas, 100 amp should be ok. With electric heat, heat pump or electric hot water 200 amp is necessary

The difference is cost, at the time of construction, is so small, it would be senseless to not upgrade to the 200 amp service. This will anticipate future need, if conditions change, requiring additional ampacity.
