I purchased a Skyline with a Coleman C36EMW 36" circulating interior fireplace. It is made for wood burning or for use with vented gas logs. The gas lines are installed, but I need someone to open up the knock-out wall for access and install vented logs. The manual recommends use of DESA, Inc.parts and service; however this is not available anywhere in my state (Calif). Is there any problem with using a local fireplace dealer to purchase vented logs by another maker and utilize their installation person? There is only one listed authorized service center listed in my documentation but they only do furnaces, not fireplaces.
Also, could I get a rough estimate of cost to set this up for gas burning with vented log set?
Thanks for any advice.

Advice needed re Coleman Fireplace
Re: Advice needed re Coleman Fireplace
I don't see why not. See if they have manufactured - home experience - most do. I would think that would be important so they would know what to expect constuction -wise. On our house, we deleted the fireplace and bought a wood stove (Vermont Castings-style, as we live in a forest and heat with it). The installers were very familiar with the process and did a great job.

Mac,
Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can get a recommendation from some local MH dealers.
