Are new MH's warmer?

I had planned on renovating my older MH (1978), but now the weather here in WI has started to get colder. Already, it's darn cold in here! Are newer homes better-insulated? It has been suggested that I trade this one in on a new home
(hopefully, a warmer one). I'm looking at Wick and Skyline, probably.

Thanks.

New homes are much better insulated then older ones.Matter of fact you can order one with your choices of insulation RH value. The only way your older home is going to warm up is to tear down the wallboard and put in better insulation. What you have is probably mighty thin to say the least.

Thank you, Bill. I assumed that new homes would be warmer, but wanted some feedback before I proceed with anything.

In 1994, when the HUD code was updated, one of the changes, was to divide the country into three thermal zones. Prior to that date, 10/25/94, the country was divided into two thermal zones. This is particularly important in your part of the country due to the severe winters. You can then further upgrade this zone III with optioned in insulation. The thermal zones are more complicated than insulation. It also takes into consideration, the glazing thru out the home, and mandates certain vapor retarders in the northern climates.
