Manufactured Homes in Central Florida

We have property in a manufactured home community in Edgewater,Florida (just south of Daytona Beach.
Our main concern is finding a floorplan that will work best for us. My mom lives with us, so we need enough room to stay out of each other's hair, a larger second bedroom for mom (most floorplans have great size master bedrooms and the other bedrooms are tiny), and the most difficult requirement is that I use a wheelchair to get around, so the floorplan needs to be wheelchair friendly.
After six months of palm harbor telling us they can do anything, lower kitchen and bathroom counters, make rooms larger, we were just told that the factory cannot lower the counters for us. Palm Harbor is the only manufacturer we found that has a roll in shower (a $2,600 option!).
Anyway, we found a General Manufactured Home that has a great floorplan for us, but they don't do any custom modifications. The price seems to be low enough that we could lower the kitchen and bathroom counters ourselves and just do without a roll-in shower.
So, my question is: is General a good, well built home? and does anyone have experience dealing with them in terms of customer service and quality of their product?
