plumbing problems

Dear Expert
We have a 1993 Gueron (sp?) home and it has a large shower with seats in the master bedroom. When we bought the home it was 10 years old. I noticed that there was mold on the bedroom wall on the other side from the shower fixture.
The floor was wet and the carpet soaked. We have not used the shower since.
I want to repair this, what type of tubes or piping is in this type of home, and what would replacing the pipes entail? I am also hoping there is no floor damage, although it does not look like it. I am now single and will either have to try this myself or hire someone. I assume I have the cut the drywall away and buy new drywall, but my first concern is the pipes.

Unfortunately, your first concern should be mold. Mold is a 4-letter word and is rather hazardous to your health. I think you need to go to a professional MH repair service or discuss with a dealer.

The plumbing system can be constructed of different types of tubing. Look under the vanity, or the kitchen sink, to ascertain what type of plumbing is being utilized.
Just a side note, when winterizing a shower, the diverter must be open to allow the water to drain out. If this is not done, often the line from the diverter to the shower head will freeze and break, and on inspection, the leak is difficult to find.
