Selling my MH home

I am having difficulty trying to sell my manufactured home. I have had a few offers but the buyers were told by lenders that they don't finance manufactured/double wide homes. Why is this? I had no problem when I purchased the home which was in 1994. We have made many updates to the home & my home is in excellant condition. If you can provide any information I can pass on to a potential buyer I would greatly appreciate it.

Most mortgages are resold by the initial lender into the secondary mortgage market. The inability of these lenders to resell the packages of mortgages, have made it difficult to obtain chattel financing at this time. You best bet may be a local bank, of the lenders available thru the links to this site, as they specialize in manufactured home lending.

Where is your mobile home and what is the size of it? I am looking for a decent size doublewide in upstate NY and I am a cash buyer so I don't need financing.
