VIN NUMBER

Can someone please tell me where to look to find the VIN number on a moble home? I have a "New Generation" moble home and do not have a title for it. I need the VIN number to apply for a lost title. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

If the home was built since 1976, the VIN or Serial Number, will be in two places. It will appear on the data plate, a 8 x 11" piece of paper glued to the wall, in the master bedroom closet, behind a kitchen cabinet door, or the like, and it will also be on the backing plate for the home. This is the piece of steel immediately behind the hitch. It is stamped into the metal, probably covered with paint and or rust, and difficult to find.

Thank you for your help. We have looked and were unable to find anything that looked like a VIN number. The rusted plate behind the hitch was the good location.
