HUD Label?

I am looking at a home that may be modular. I am trying to determine if it is a modular home or manufactured (double wide). There are HUD lables on the exterior that appear to be silver (not red), if it is not faded out. The crawl space door is locked, therefore, I am unable look underneath at the floor structure. THe HUD # starts w/ RAD #######.
I have e-mailed HUD for manufacturer info but its been over a week (imagine that). All interior lables were removed.
Anyone know anything about the color of lables.
Oh yeah, if it matters, the property is located in Iredell County, NC.
Thanks

You say 'labels'. Look close and you should see that the last number on each label is one digit higher/lower.. You are not looking at a modular.

The labels are just faded out. They often turn back to the aluminum color. RAD is the abbreviation for the third party inspection firm RADCO. The serial number on the backing plate will also give you the abbreviation for the manufacturer, and the state of manufacture.

The state in which the home was constructed is encoded into the serial number, as opposed to the HUD number
