I have a unique situation. A couple of months ago my wife and I began the search to buy a mobile home. One dealership said that they had just had aperson leave that was interested in a doublewide and would be trading in her 1 year old single wide and he would call us when the deal with her was worked out. So, we continued to look at new, used and repo homes, and had narrowed it down to this one and a new one. We went and looked at this"tradein" it was a 2002 Belmont with vynil siding and shingle roof. The interior was spotless and in really good shape. The price was right too $18,000 delivered and set up. My only concern was the people were still living there, I wanted to the right to a final inspection after the people had moved out before I signed the final paperwork. The salesman agreed. We then started on our financing and were approved. We signed the loan with the bank and held onto the check until we were to sign with the dealership. We set a date of June 28th to do the final inspection,(to give the people who were living there time to get there new trailer in or time to find a place to move to in the mean time. I called the salesman the week of June 16-20 to make sure everything was going on schedule for their part and he said that we were on schedule. In the mean time I had been working on getting water, septic tank and electric ready. Today (June 26) I call the dealership to talk to the salesman to set a time on the 28th to meet and do a final inspection, only to find out that the salesman was no longer with the dealership and that they couldn't find any of my paperwork. I was then told that they couldn't sell the tradein for the agreed upon amount, that it was going to be $27,500 to buy the mobile home. I have a piece of paperwork (I'm not sure exactly what the title of the paperwork is, I don't have it with me.) that tells what I will pay for the mobile home and what they will do. The person now handling my account with the dealership is supposed to call me back today, to let me know what that they are willing to do. Any advise woulbe greatly appreciated. Thx

No wonder the saleperson is gone...You have a problem that might take legal advice...If you have a solid contract (purchase agreement)..I do not think you can force them to sell...but they might well be liable for damages....

A call to an attorney might well be in order before you say anything to the dealership..
