energy efficiency
i bought a towna and country powerhouse in sept 2002. we upgraded to a windzone2 and upgraded to the highest insulation. we also have a 12 seer ac unit. the windows are double paned also. my problem is, with so much upgrade to keep our electric bill lower, we still have a bill ranging from 250-500 dollars a month. do you have any suggestions or do you think something may need to be checked into?
Re: energy efficiency
Here are some general things...
Manufactured homes are fairly airtight, so the air wouldn't be sneaking away. You may be cooling it more than needed? Or leaving the door open occasionally? What do other customers of your utility company pay to cool their houses?
A programmable thermostat may help you shut off the AC in the middle of the night when you're sleeping. That is easily installable by you or any heating/cooling contractor.
