Slicky = lie, liar, deal to get the best of another party.....or a sales person who tacks on extras after telling you they are giving you the best deal on the home itself....like our $4,500 block foundation quoted by one slicky! LOL!

Anywho....curious to know why a person who bought a MFH would go to the permit office for a moving permit and tell them its a modular?

or can some DWs be considers MODs?
the home was a Clayton....

just curious if the value of the new home is increased at appraisal if it is listed as a modular.....this house was not a MOD as far as I know...so what is the point of this lady pulling this "slicky" with the permit office? or is it legit?

Actually it depends on the zoning..But..I would HOPE the inspector will notice the differents...

From you ISP..It seems that you are in GA....If so...no modular has a frame..and I am SURE the building inspector will know this...

An apprasier would know if the home is a MF.They go to your county tax office and pull all the records whenever it is appraised.
A modular is almost never moved after it is set.MF are moved much more often and many are on rented land which drives their value down to nill in a decade.
BTW all salesman that sell things that come on wheels are slickys,to some extent.Its the nature of the beast.

The fact that most mods do not have frame, is a characteristic, and not a code requirement. Clayton does in fact build both HUD and Modular. The Mods, can be built either "on" or "off" frame. This is often done in an effort to elude local zoning restrictions. Years ago, all mods were "off" frame, but not so today. The only accurate distinction, is to what code the home was built.
