2x6 walls should mean 2x6 sile and plat?? And when they tell you one header layed flat is that one on top of the frame on say a window so that would be two?

Yes, 2 by 6 walls should have 2 by 6 top and bottom plates.Preferably 2 for the top plate.You probably wont see that though.Also a header is never laid flat like the top plates.Its should always be verical for strength.That being said most manufactured housing,if not all, just use jacks over the windows and doors.I guess because MH truss and roof systems are so light.I've been on a few roofs that I was a little worried about falling thru,and those were new units!
