Identification Number of Mobile Home

My deceased Aunt has a mobile home (trailer) that is being sold. We do not
have a certificate of title and it is too old to get a duplicate copy. It is a
1973 Champion trailer.
Do you know if the identification number may be actually on the trailer somewhere?
Thanks for your help.

If the hitch is still welded on the home it it may be there. It also may be on the breaker box door.Check the furnace compartment area and cabinet doors also. This a pre HUD home so it has not HUD numbered plates on it.

The serial number is stamped into the "A" frame part of the hitch. It will be covered with rust and paint, and almost impossible to locate, but it is there.

Roy Bonney,
If due to time and weather it is so covered with rust and paint that the number
is not readable, do you know how we can obtain the actual identification
number for this particular Champion trailer?
THANKS.
