"spongy" floors

Not long after moving into our 1975 Madison mobile, we notice "spongy" spots in the floor almost at the center point where the two halves of the home meet. After inspecting under the home for leaks (which there were none) we removed the spongy sections of floor and laid all new underlayment and flooring. Now, less than a year later (8 months), mounds have appeared in the same spot. The mounds were at first, hard, but have started to become "squishy." I lifted a section of the floor to discover damp underlayment. We inspected under the home and found that area of the house is damp, but we can't find the origin. There are no pipes in the near area.

We don't know where to begin. I thought about calling the home warranty company and/or the insurance company, but I don't even know what to tell them to look at. It doesn't seem to be the pipes, so it's apparently not the plumbing. If it's "flooding", it won't be covered by the insurance.

Have you heard of any similar experiences, and if so, how do you suggest we begin to ensure it won't happen a third time?

I'd appreciate any information you can provide. Thanks so much for your time.

A couple of things come to mind. Is the marrage line, leaking, from the roof? Is the marriage line properly sealed as required? Is the skirting properly ventilated to the one square foot of free area to 150 square feet of floor formula, as required?
Soft floors, or wet areas do not always come from a plumbing leak.
