Percentage dealers make on options

Post by George » Thu Mar 27, 2003 6:36 pm

I am in the process of trying to make a deal on a new Manufactured Double-wide. I will be ordering the home built with over $10,000. in options. Can anyone give me information on how much profit a dealer makes on options? I live in western New York. ( some of the options will be 5/12 roof pitch, drywall in all but wet rooms, central air, upgrade carpeting throughout, fireplace, delta faucets, etc.)

Every dealership sets their own margins. Some sell the options at their cost, some use a multiplier.

Most independent dealers add options at cost...often the corporate dealers add a consistant mark up on every item they add to the home....

Not seeing your whole list...just the items you have listed are often over 10K...Sounds like they are not adding much profit on the options..
