Prepapered walls

I have a 93 Carrollton that I am in the process of remodeling. My bedroom has the pre-papered (textured) walls and I would like to paint over this. Is it possible to paint over these walls w/out bubbling the paper, and if so, what kind of things should I do to prepare the wall ahead of time. I have a feeling that the texturization on the paper might show through when I paint. Should I use primer or a special kind of paint to go over walls?

Try using Killz primer. Try it in a small out of the way spot, like a closet first.
If the results are to your liking, paint on. WARNING... the stuff smells real
bad till it dries.
