Thanks again for sharing with me your wealth of info. I have noticed a lot of Guerdon Homes in my area. These are late 70's through mid 80's model homes. I know Guerdon still manufactures in the NW US, but obviously they manufactured in GA at one time, and possibly in NC, (i have homes in both areas). I dont know much about these homes, but they seem to be well built for that time period. One dealer called them "LITTLE TANKS". Who was Guerdon Enterprises, and where did they manufacture and market their homes in the 70's and early 80's. I seem to recall that they merged with another company in recent years, AMERICAN HOMESTAR, if im correct. Any info you could share would be of great interest to me.

Thanks as always,
LUKE S

The older Guerdons were a multi plant company...Wacross, GA and Lake City, Fl. were two large plants building many units...

In Waycross the Plant Manager was Sam Scott..After Guerdon closed he bought the plant and built Scott Homes for many years..Then had to close (HUD violations on a large FEMA order)...The plant was sold to General Housing (some think Sam Scott had some interest in some way) and there still are homes built there...All much similar to the original Guerdon in concept..

There may well have been many other plants..

Have you seen the Manufactured home Museum???..
Here is a link to the web site..I understand the curator is very helpful...
